Dream Day Itinerary
Picture this - you’ve booked a weekend trip to Newport and need a little guidance on how to spend your time wisely. While second beach in Newport is one of my favorite places to be in the summer, here’s a day packed with adventure.
9:00 AM - Start Your Day at The Nitro Bar
Kick off your Newport adventure with a refreshing coffee at The Nitro Bar. Known for its unique nitrogen-infused coffee, and homemade coffee syrups this trendy spot will give you the perfect caffeine boost to start your day. Here’s my go-to summer order: small iced blueberry latte with oat milk and cinnamon on top (tastes like a blueberry muffin) Pair your drink with one of their delicious pastries for a delightful morning treat. There will most definitely be a line so I recommend coming prepared, it is deliciously worth the wait.
10:00 AM - Stroll Through the Newport Historic District
After your coffee, take a leisurely stroll through the Newport Historic District. Explore the charming streets lined with colonial architecture, boutiques, and local art galleries. Be sure to stop by the iconic Trinity Church and the picturesque Washington Square. There are iconic galleries, antique shops, and enough places to persuade you to buy some Newport merch!
11:30 AM - Visit the Newport Mansions
Head to the Newport Mansions and choose one or two to tour. The Marble House and The Breakers are both stunning examples of Gilded Age architecture, offering insight into the opulent lifestyles of the wealthy families who once inhabited them.
1:30 PM - Lunch at 22 Bowens
Make your way to the cobblestone paths in the wharf. Enjoy a casual yet elegant dining experience with stunning views of the water. Savor fresh, locally-sourced dishes while relaxing in the picturesque outdoor setting. They offer plenty of outdoor dining, and even if you sit indoors you will still have an ocean view. My favorite dish is basic but it is the Caesar salad with blackened chicken. Their gluten free menu is quite wonderful. P.S. - make lunch fun by ordering a spicy watermelon margarita!
3:00 PM - Relax at Second Beach
After lunch, head to Second Beach, known for its soft sands and family-friendly atmosphere. Spend your afternoon soaking up the sun, swimming in the ocean, or enjoying beach games. It's a perfect spot to unwind and recharge.
